Local author to host a book signing Saturday in Newton

Local Author Signing “Chicken Soup for the Soul” books in Newton from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Mattingly Music and Books will be hosting the event for the recently released Chicken Soup for the Soul books: “The Dog Really Did That?” and “The Cat Really Did That?” The public is invited to stop in. Local contributing author, Susan A. Hoffert, will be signing books, sharing snippets of her pet’s stories, and answering questions about her experience in submitting to Chicken Soup for the Soul publisher.

These two books contain tales of magical moments, miracles, and a bit of dog or cat mischief. From cats who repair families to kittens who wreck houses, from dogs who need rescuing to heroes who rescue their owners — like in the case of Susan’s dog, Buster.

One can’t go wrong with these new, signed bestsellers — for yourself and for every cat or dog lover on your gift list. These are the third pair of books featuring cats and dogs Chicken Soup for the Soul’s published with royalties earmarked for American Humane as an effort to support animal shelters and promote pet adoption across the country.
