Brett A. Brodersen

Brett Alan Brodersen, 58 of Monroe, passed away on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, in Pearisburg, Va. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. at the Monroe Presbyterian Church. The family will greet friends following the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The son of Wilbur Dean and Judith Ann (Jones) Brodersen, Brett was born on Dec. 17, 1958, in Des Moines. Brett graduated from Monroe High School in 1977. Brett worked for Manatt’s Inc. in Ankeny. He was a member of the Monroe Presbyterian Church, where he volunteered as the audio and media technician. He also volunteered for the annual “Night of Trivia” for the PCM Foundation. Brett also worked as a sound technician for the band Pie in the Sky.

Those left to honor Brett’s memory include his children, Graham Alan Brodersen of Marquette, Mich., Caryse Leigh Brodersen and Aaron Hickman of Golden, Colo. and Reece Jones Brodersen of Golden, Colo.; his mother, Judy A. Brodersen and Lehrl G. Van Dalen of Monroe; his father, W. Dean Brodersen and Marilyn Reese of Newton; his sister, Lisa D. Brodersen and Kirby Baumgard, and his brother, Doug Brodersen and Jody Timmins of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a sister, Dana Brodersen.
