Big second quarter propels No. 10 Bolts to win over WACO

BAXTER — Baxter’s football team outscored its visitors 28-6 in the second quarter, and the 10th-ranked Bolts improved to 6-1 on the season with a 50-20 win over WACO on homecoming on Friday night.

The game was called at halftime due to lightning. Baxter led 22-14 after one quarter.

Senior Travis Lindemoen caught three more touchdown passes from senior Braydon Aker.

Lindemoen is now three TD catches and a little more than 200 receiving yards away from setting new 8-man all-time single season records.

Aker was 9-of-12 through the air for 204 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 104 yards on four carries and another score.

Devin Carson gained 72 yards and scored two TDs on six carries and hauled in three passes for 58 yards and another score. He also had seven tackles and a fumble recovery on defense.

Lindemoen caught four passes for 104 yards and three scores. Senior Marcus Mitchell’s only catch went for 36 yards.

Defensively, senior Jusson Roush led the way with 7 1/2 tackles. Sophomore Cole Damman collected five tackles, Mitchell tallied 4 1/2 tackles and Aker finished with four tackles. Lindemoen claimed his third interception of the season.

The Bolts play their final home game of the season against Springville (2-6) at 7 p.m. Friday in Baxter.
