Newton Police Department
• Calvin L. Powell, 32, of Newton, is charged with driving while license under suspension after he was pulled over on East Fifth Street South at 10:25 p.m. Sept. 19. He was cited and released to appear.
• Jacob H. Kendall, 29, of Newton, is charged with driving while license under suspension after he was pulled over on First Avenue East at 10:42 p.m. Sept. 19. He was cited and released to appear.
• Stan F. Hopwood, 50, of Newton, was arrested on a Jasper County warrant for violation of a court order to serve a jail sentence when officers located him at 11:45 p.m. Sept. 19 at 500 W. Fourth St. N. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Joshua L. Wielard, 28, of Pella, was arrested on a Marion County warrant for parole violation when officers located him at 4:38 a.m. Thursday at 3000 N. Fourth Ave. E. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
