Kaden Brady, 6, of Kellogg high-fives 8-year-old Nicolas McBride of Newton during Saturday’s 60th anniversary carnival at the Newton Christian School. The K-8 school, at 1710 N. 11th Ave E., threw a carnival to commemorate its 60th birthday in Newton. Dozens of families, current students and alumni came to the backyard carnival filled with games, a bounce house and snow cones for the 90-plus degree day.
