WAUKEE — NCMP’s Aquagirls defeated Marshalltown 63-38, but lost to Waukee 79-22 in a double dual swim meet on Tuesday hosted by Waukee.
“We had a solid meet against Waukee and Marshalltown,” NCMP head coach Sarah Patterson said. “Overall, it was a good meet for us. We look forward to the Valley Invite on Saturday and two meets next week — Tuesday away at Perry and Thursday at home against Atlantic.”
Lindsay Blommers continues to lead the NCMP breaststrokers as she claimed a 100-yard race win at Waukee. She also recorded a personal-best time in the 100 freestyle race.
No individual times nor complete results from the meet were available at presstime.
Patterson said Jessica Zahn looked strong in posting a season’s-best time in the 500 freestyle. Lakin Jenkins had two varsity wins over Marshalltown in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
“Julia Prime had a great meet as well, notching a season’s best in both the 50 free and 100 backstroke. Briahna Teague set a personal record in the 100 breaststroke,” Patterson said.
Kinzi Van Wyk had a personal best time in the junior varsity 50 freestyle and looked strong, Patterson said. Rachel Boll had personal best times in both the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Boll won the junior varsity 50 freestyle.
“So fun to see Rachel swim well as she works incredibly hard,” Patterson said. “Courtney Dawson won the junior varsity 200 freestyle with a season best time. Molly Coy had a personal best in the 200 IM and broke 3-minutes and also posted her best 100 free time on the 400 free relay.”
McKenna Brooks and Chloe Kibbee both posted good times in the 100 fly and had fast splits in the 50 fly on the medley relay, Patterson said. She said Natalie Boll and Arabella Eide continue to look strong in our mid to distance freestyle events.
The Aquagirls compete at noon on Saturday at the West Des Moines Valley Invitational.
