Newton Police Department
• Lauren A. Neal, 32, of Newton, was arrested on warrants for two trespassing charges at 4:32 a.m. Sept. 16 at Hy-Vee Gas. Neal was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Elisha E. Woody, 32, of Newton, was charged with public intoxication, second offense, at 5:35 p.m. Sept. 15 after police were called to the 500 block of East Fifth Street North. The man was in the 800 block of East Fifth Street North. Woody smelled of alcohol. Woody told police he had been drinking earlier that day. Woody was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Jason A. Browning, 39, of Patrick AFB, Fla., was charged with domestic abuse assault at 10:10 p.m. Sept. 15 after police were called to American Legion for a possible fight. Witnesses told police that a man was arguing with a woman and grabbed her by the neck and chocked her for about 10 seconds. Browning was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
• Scot A. Stewart Jr., 19, of Newton, was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at 902 N. 10th Ave. E. on a Poweshiek County warrant for probation violation, original charge burglary. Stewart was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
