Daniel Eugene Prall of Santa Fe, N.M., son of the late Dwight and Pauline Prall of Newton, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque. He was severely injured in a car accident in Santa Fe Friday, May 26, 2017. Dan was born Dec. 29, 1937, in Milo, and graduated from Newton High School in 1956. He graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, in 1960, with a degree in business administration.

Dan received his U.S. Air Force training at Lackland Air Base in San Antonio, Texas, starting in 1960. He was honorably discharged after three years and honorably discharged a second time from the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a Captain Dec. 8, 1970.

Dan was employed by the National Security Agency at Fort George G. Meade with the Maryland Statistical Services while residing at Annapolis, Md. He retired in 1993 and moved to Santa Fe. Dan volunteered at the Museum of International Folk Art and the Fray Angelico Chavez History Library in Santa Fe.

Survivors include his brother, Richard D. Prall of Albuquerque; nephew, Kirk D. Prall and wife, Tanya of Boise, Idaho; and niece, Kim Prall McCoy and husband, Jim of Tijeras, N.M.

A memorial service and burial will be at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The chapel for the service is at the top of the hill. Please visit our online guestbook for Daniel at FrenchFunerals.com.
