GILBERTVILLE — The Baxter volleyball team won its first match of the season against Don Bosco on Thursday.
The Bolts rallied from 2-1 deficit to defeat the Dons in five sets. Baxter won 19-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-22, 17-15 on the road during Iowa Star Conference play.
The Bolts (1-1 overall, 1-0 in conference play) overcame 12 aces by Don Bosco (5-9, 0-1). Statistics for Baxter were unavailable at press time.
Baxter plays in the Colfax-Mingo tournament on Saturday. The Bolts open with host Colfax-Mingo at 9 a.m. They also play Des Moines Hoover at 11 a.m. and Clarke at 12:50 p.m.
