Joseph R. Mathews, 32, of Harvey, was charged with violation of no contact order at 9 p.m. Aug. 17 after police were called to a residence on East 10th Street South. The victim told police the night prior she received about 122 calls from a restricted number. The victim alleged it was Mathews calling. The victim said she turned off her cell phone, and when she turned it back on, she had four voicemails left by Mathews. Mathews left messages saying he wants to talk to his daughter. Mathews was served with a no contact order Aug. 1. Mathews was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
