Newton Police Department

• Joseph R. Mathews, 32, of Harvey, was arrested 5:55 p.m. Aug. 29 by the Pella Police Department on a Jasper County warrant for a violation of no contact order. He was picked up at the Pella Police Department and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Brandon D. Robertson, 35, of Newton, was arrested at 10:57 p.m. Aug. 30 in the Bungalow Court area on a Jasper County warrant for failure to appear, original charges failure to pay child support. Robertson was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Brady J. Maher, 27, of Prairie City, was charged with operating while under the influence at 7:18 p.m. Monday after he was stopped for an equipment violation and for suspicion of OWI at the intersection of South Monroe Street and West Second Street in Prairie City. Maher smelled strongly of alcohol, was slow to respond and changing answers. Maher originally stated he had not consumed alcohol, but then stated he had two beers. Maher refused to do a field sobriety test. Maher’s blood alcohol content was more than .08. Maher was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Daniel R. Gorsuch, 57, of Marshalltown, was charged with driving while license denied or revoked at 9:59 p.m. Monday after Gorsuch was stopped for speeding and for having a faulty license plate light on Highway 330 South at mile marker three in Mingo. Gorsuch was driving with a revoked driver’s license. Gorsuch was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
