John Thomas Rand, 58, of Shakopee, Minn., formerly of Newton, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2017, at his place of residence. A funeral service will be at noon Tuesday, Sept. 5 at Ballard-Sunder Funeral and Cremation Reception Center in Shakopee. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. John will be buried at Fort Snelling with full military honors.
