Newton grad receives neuroscience award

Madison Bagnall, a 2014 Newton High School graduate, was honored as the Outstanding Senior in neuroscience by Drake University.

This award is presented annually to an outstanding senior neuroscience major demonstrating distinguished academic performance in the classroom and research. Her research, titled, “A Comparison of Responding for Intracranial Self-Stimulation and Food Reinforcement under Normal Conditions and with Acute d-Amphetamine Challenge,” has been accepted for presentation at the Society for Neuroscience 2017 Annual Meeting in Washington D.C., Nov. 11-15. Her mentor is William Klipec, a professor in the Psychology Department at Drake University.

Madison is the daughter of Brent and Deb Bagnall.
