The Newton Community Marketing Board made several advertising decisions at its July meeting on Thursday. Advertising efforts totaling $6,358 will be put towards the Newton Development Corporation’s Newton Manufacturing Spotlight — Brand and Recruitment Video, the Travel Iowa Fiscal Year 2018 Cooperative Partnership program and 2017 KCOB Sports Book.
“The NDC is partnering with Liebl Marketing Group and Luminary Creative to produce a Newton Manufacturing Spotlight — Brand and Recruitment video,” community marketing manager Danielle Rogers said. “The purpose of the video will be used to promote and showcase New’s robust, diverse and growing manufacturing base.”
Three products will be delivered from the project including one, five to seven minutes video that will feature between four and six Newton based manufactures and employers, one 60 to 90 second “charm” video and four to six 90 second in length videos that will showcase individual manufacturers. The videos will include text, graphics, animation and voiceovers and can be used on social media, websites and additional marketing efforts.
“The 90 second video is one that I think will be really key for us to use in marketing,” Rodgers said.
The city’s contribution towards the project is $4,000 to be paid for using funds from the marketing budget.
The second advertising route approved is for four Travel Iowa Cooperative Partnership program opportunities. The board had previously reviewed options from Travel Iowa and made recommendations on the areas it thought would best suite the city.
From those discussions, reservations were made with the Iowa Outdoor Package for $300, Vacation Iowa for $600 and for a Travel Iowa Facebook Ad in both September and May for $600, all to be paid for using marketing budget funds. The board plans to review the data after the ads run on the Travel Iowa Facebook page in September to determine future advertising endeavors.
Event based marketing advertising with KCOB and Energy is set to come to an end in September Rogers said. A new opportunity to advertise in the KCOB/Energy Sports Book will include 66, 30 second commercials that can be used to supplement a variety of fall events.
The board approved a quarter page add along with the commercials for $858 to be paid for using funds from the marketing budget.
