Iowa State Center awarded funding from Arts Midwest Touring Fund

The Iowa State Center at Iowa State University has been selected to receive funding from Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest, generously supported by the National Endowment for the Arts with additional contributions from the Iowa Arts Council and the Crane Group.

Arts Midwest Touring Fund engages people in meaningful experiences with the fine arts of dance, music, theater, and other performing arts forms. Inter-state touring and the engagement of professional artists is central to the work of Arts Midwest.

Arts Midwest Executive Director David J. Fraher says, “Arts Midwest is proud to support the Iowa State Center in their upcoming engagement of Flip Fabrique. Arts events like this not only provide uplifting experiences for audiences, they also create meaningful jobs for those employed in the arts industry — thus amplifying the effectiveness of our funding.”

Flip FabriQue’s show Attrape Moi! (Catch Me!) takes audiences on a trip to a cottage with six acrobats and witnesses their first get-together in a decade! They haul out folding chairs for a unique performance, and then perform spectacular acrobatics, a one of a kind trampo-wall and humor that are all part of the spellbinding fun.

Flip FabriQue was created in 2011 by students who graduated from the Quebec City Circus School. Their dream is to create circus shows that reflect their unique image, draw from their personal experiences and unleash each member’s full potential. They performed extensively with companies around the world such as Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Éloize.

Flip FabriQue is part of the 2017-18 Performing Arts Series at Stephens and tickets are currently available through the subscription series. Individual tickets will go on sale in August. More information is available at www.center.iastate.edu or by calling 515-294-2479.
