Barbara Ann went home to be with her Savior on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Nelson Manor Health Care in Newton, under the care of Mercy Hospice.

A time of remembrance and celebration of life will be 11 a.m.; Saturday, July 1 at the Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton, with a visitation an hour prior to the services. As an expression of sympathy, memorials may be designated to Community Heights Alliance Church. The Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton, have been entrusted with the arrangements.

Barbara Ann Peil, 78, was born Dec. 12, 1938, in Joliet, Ill., the daughter of George Lawrence and Ann Margaret (Jonish) Stewart. She graduated from Odell High School, in Illinois.

On Nov. 27, 1959, Barb was united in marriage to Glen Eugene Peil in Council Bluffs. Barb was a homemaker all her life and will be greatly missed. She was an excellent cook and loved to read. She was a woman who served God through many years of hosting and supporting missionaries, Bible studies and serving at VBS and in many church offices and kitchens during her time on earth. She always prayed for her family.

Barb is survived by her husband of 57 years, Glen Eugene Peil of Kellogg; daughters: Shelly (Joe) Isabelli of Shorewood, Ill. and Becky (Joe) DeHart of Kellogg; her six grandchildren: Lisa (Bruce) Dell, Kyle (Maria) Isabelli, David DeHart, Paul DeHart, Ryan Rosenquist and Reese Rosenquist; three great-grandchildren: Nora and Max Isabelli and Abby Dell; numerous nieces and nephews; and many good neighbors and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a beloved great-granddaughter Zoey Dell; and a brother and sister-in-law: George and Gloria Stewart Jr.
