PELLA — The Prairie City-Monroe softball team suffered losses to two ranked teams at the Pella Christian tournament on Saturday.
The Mustangs lost 13-1 to Class 4A No. 5 Ballard and suffered a 9-2 defeat at the hands of 3A No. 4 Humboldt.
PCM (13-11) fell behind 11-0 after two innings against Ballard, which has won nine straight games to get to 27-4 on the season.
Humboldt (23-4) led PCM 4-0 after two innings and went up 9-0 after six innings. The Mustangs scored both of their runs in the seventh inning.
Statistics for both of PCM’s games were unavailable at press time.
PCM hosts South Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Monroe. The Mustangs host 4A Knoxville on Tuesday.
