Charles Appleby

Charles Appleby, 74, of Shawnee, Kan., passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, June 18, 2017, after a two-year battle with lung cancer. Charles was the son of Delmar and Mildred Appleby. He was born Sept. 18, 1942, in Newton. He worked at Sprint for 32 years and Lowes for 10 years. Charles enjoyed cooking for family, friends and neighbors. He also loved doing home projects, wood working and quilting.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Larry Appleby. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Judy Appleby; brother, David (Linda) Appleby of Cherokee; seven children; and 13 grandchildren.
