Maureen J. McRoberts

Maureen J. McRoberts, 70, of Newton, entered into her heavenly home surrounded by her family Friday, June 9, 2017, at AccuraHealthcare of Newton West. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 16 at the Newton Church of The Way. Memorials to the Jasper County Animal Rescue League may be left at the church the day of the service or at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Maureen, the daughter of Nicholas J. and Bernice G. (Vaiana) Halbert, was born Nov. 30, 1946, in St. Louis, Mo. She lived in St. Louis for most of her life working in various administrative roles. At the time of her retirement she was working in bookkeeping and accounting at St. Mary’s Hospital. In 2006, Maureen moved to Newton. She attended the Newton Church of the Way.

Maureen is survived by her daughter, Janet (Glenn) Kimmel of Newton; grandchildren, Earl, Noah, Carolyn, Samantha and Joshua Kimmel; and her two sisters, Linda Rositz of St. Louis, Mo., and Carol (Bill) Vaiana-Menkhus of Maricopa, Ariz. Maureen was preceded in death by her parents.
