Raider baseball can’t hang with North Polk

ALLEMAN — The Collins-Maxwell/Baxter baseball team was held to just two hits in an 11-1, five-inning loss to North Polk during Heart of Iowa Conference play Monday.

The Comets led 5-0 after three innings before ending the game with a six-run fifth frame. CMB’s lone run came in the fifth off an RBI hit by senior Creighton Caple.

Sophomore Derrick Klemme had the other hit. The Raiders walked five times. Junior Travis Lindemoen walked twice, senior Brady Kemp walked and stole a base and Caple and senior Tucker Maxwell both walked once.

Kemp took the loss on the mound after allowing eight runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings.

CMB (1-6 overall, 1-6 in the HOIC) lost its fourth straight game. The Raiders host South Hamilton (2-7, 0-6) at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday in Collins.
