Mustang softball stays unbeaten in HOIC play

Senior Kayla Jennings had her rise ball working in the circle. Jennings allowed one run on four hits with seven strikeouts and no walks. She improved to 6-0 on the season.

Senior Jayci Vos opened the scoring when she reached on an infield single in the first inning. Vos ran all the way to third base following a South Hamilton throwing error and then scored on a wild pitch to make it 1-0. Vos is hitting .595 at the plate.

The Mustangs (8-1 overall, 6-0 in the HOIC) held their 1-0 lead through the fifth. In the sixth, sophomore Anna Shaver double and scored on a two-out RBI single by senior Abby Waddell.

PCM’s lead grew to 5-0 in the sixth. The Mustangs had three hits and one walk in the three-run frame, including an RBI double by senior Jaiden Rogers. South Hamilton scored its only run in the seventh frame.

The Mustangs had another big night at the plate.

Vos, Jennings, Shaver and senior Courtney Bridges all had two hits. Shaver had two runs and an RBI. Waddell, Rogers and junior Madison Foster all had RBIs.
