C-M baseball gets back on track against Sigourney

SIGOURNEY — The Colfax-Mingo baseball team got back on track and rallied to win another South Iowa Cedar League game on Monday.

Freshman Trystin Ross stayed unbeaten on the mound, senior Adam Teed and junior Misha Seebeck each had two hits at the plate and the Tigerhawks rallied from a 2-0 deficit to beat Sigourney, 7-4, on the road.

Ross improved to 4-0 on the mound with another solid game.

Ross allowed one earned run on four hits with strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. His season earned run average is now .45.

Junior Jonathan Jacobs earned his second save of the season after allowing no runs and no hits with two strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings.

Teed had two hits, two runs and two RBIs, Seebeck had two hits and one RBI and junior Alex Lewis scored twice. Jacobs drove in two runs, and senior Jimmy Camp walked twice.

Sigourney (5-2 overall, 3-2 in the SICL) led 2-0 after two innings, but Colfax-Mingo (6-2, 6-1) rallied with three runs in the third and two in the fourth.

The Savages pulled within 5-4 with a pair of runs in the fifth, but C-M added single runs in the sixth and seventh.

The Tigerhawks host Belle Plaine at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Colfax. They play Tri-County at 6 p.m. Friday.
