• Justin P. Doran, 35, of Newton, was arrested at 10:32 p.m. May 29 at 922 E. Eighth St. N. on a Hardin County warrant for failure to appear on a charge. Doran was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Penny M. Anderson, 56, of Cedar Rapids, was charged with operating while under the influence at 10 a.m. Saturday after police were called to Walmart in reference to a possible intoxicated female. The female was inside the store receiving money wired from Cedar Rapids. Anderson left Walmart and got into a blue Honda and then pulled into Murphy’s Gas Station. Police made contact with Anderson and she smelled of alcohol. Anderson got out of the vehicle and threw two beer cans in the trash can. Anderson told police she had a drink within the last five hours. Anderson failed sobriety tests and blew over .08. Anderson was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Hayley B. Sholley, 22, of Grinnell, was charged with fifth-degree theft at 8:16 p.m. Monday after police responded to Yes Way. Sholley didn’t pay for all of her items, became upset and left the store with a pop and a Little Debbie Swiss cake roll. Police found Sholley in the area. The total value for the items was $2.28. Sholley was released and issued a citation to appear in court.
