Waddell’s two goals leads PCM girls to first win

CHARITON — The Prairie City-Monroe girls’ soccer team found the win column for the first time in 2017 on Tuesday.

The Mustangs defeated Chariton 2-1 on the road. Senior Abby Waddell scored both goals in the victory. It was just the third and fourth goals scored by PCM this season.

The Mustangs (1-14) dropped a 1-0 decision at home to Knoxville on Monday. It was the 13th time this season that PCM was shutout.

PCM begins postseason play against Class 1A No. 11 Pella Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Pella. The Eagles defeated PCM 5-0 at the Southeast Polk tournament earlier this month.
