Legalize freedom and fireworks

The Fourth of July will soon be here. Something about celebrating independence from the British. There could be a little noise involved. Some people seem to be against such celebrating by the common people today.

So often these days almost anything can be pushed through the system and used to trample individual liberty, supposedly for “public safety.” What we are getting is playground slides that wouldn’t slide, anti-lock brakes that won’t brake and cars that are going to drive themselves. All, we’re being told, is good “for our own good.”

What about freedom of speech and expression — wasn’t that part of liberation?

The power structure becomes so rigid, and manipulating, and two-faced oppressive that people have given up on trying to fight it?

Does littering the area with traffic control devices actually make people feel safer? Does making an even-fisted law against something hardly ever bring about willing and lasting change for the better?

Isn’t it better to build playgrounds instead of building and expanding the failed system? Does senseless destruction of decent affordable housing let common people have a place to live? Does the average person want more and more authority — and power-hungry elitist establishment?

In the modern world, are common sense, reasonable ideas simply not even considered? Maybe all the frenzied high-tech madness has destroyed our ability to think. Was it Jefferson who said that “for those that will give up liberty for a little safety?

The original Adolf supposedly is dead. But is he really dead or has he just changed his name and moved to a different place? Legalize freedom and fireworks. Just tell everyone to be careful and thoughtful. End of story.
