There’s always something happening at Lake Red Rock. Check out these upcoming programs and activities:
Live Snakes! will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the Whitebreast Amphitheater. Get an up-close look at some of these slithery, scaly reptiles that call the lake area home. You might even get the chance to hold one of them.
Playscape Planting Day will begin 10 a.m. Saturday in the Playscape Play Area (located near the North Overlook Beach). Get your hands dirty planting seeds, flowers and herbs for this season's feast of the eyes and tastebuds. Gardeners of all ages welcome! You can also make a garden craft to take home.
"Owl Puke" Investigation program will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Red Rock Visitor Center
Take a closer look at what owls leave behind after they eat. You'll get your own owl pellet to dissect. Search through the bones to figure out what critter became its last meal.
Meet Bobber the Water Safety Dog at 2 p.m. Monday at North Overlook Beach. Bobber is a fun loving pup that likes to meet new people and help them learn how to be safe around the water. Come meet him and pick up some great safety tips.
Programs are free of charge and no reservations are needed. Activities may be canceled if raining. For more information, contact the Corps of Engineers office at 641-828-7522 or via email at lakeredrock@usace.army.mil
