ANITA — Lynnville-Sully junior Holden Jansen’s golf season came to an end Friday in the Iowa Class 1A district tournament at Crestwood Hills Golf Course in Anita.
Jansen shot a 46 on the front nine then struggled a bit on the back nine for a 53. His 18-hole total of 99 placed him 55th overall out of 65 golfers at the district tournament. Colton Lenz of Coon Rapids was the district meet medalist with a 74.
Lenz led Coon Rapids to a team qualification for the state meet. The other team qualifying from the district was North Mahaska. The two non-team individual qualifiers were Lucas Hemphill of Wayne with a 77 and Lamoni’s Jordan Lester with a 78.
The Class 1A state tournament field is not complete. The district tournament at Mason City was postponed until Monday because of storm damage to the golf course.
The 1A state tournament is Friday and Saturday at Marshalltown.
