CMB girls end losing skid against Knoxville

MAXWELL — Freshman Karlie Maxwell tripled her scoring output on the season with a pair of goals Thursday for the Collins-Maxwell/Baxter girls’ soccer team.

Maxwell’s second and third goals of the season propelled the Raiders to a 5-2 win over Knoxville.

The win ended CMB’s four-game losing streak and improved its season record to 4-6.

Junior Tatum Tremain also scored two goals for CMB. Freshman Caitlyn Bruntz scored her seventh goal of the season and sophomore Andee Joos added an assist.

Tatum now has a team-leading eight goals on the season.

It was the second straight loss for Knoxville, which fell to 4-7 on the season.

CMB plays at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Grand View Christian. The Raiders play at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Chariton.
