Mother’s Day tradition continues at Lemon Tree

The Lemon Tree Teahouse & Restaurant will continue its tradition this month by hosting a Mother’s Day Luncheon devoted to having a relaxing and delicious Sunday brunch.

Since the restaurant moved in October to a more prominent location on First Avenue West, restaurant owner Megan Pryke said organizing the Mother’s Day event for the second year was a no-brainer.

“I think it will really be a bigger and better brunch,” Pryke said. “The brunch was a huge hit last year and it was really a kick-off for our Sunday brunch specials.”

The Mother’s Day Luncheon is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes an entreé choice of salmon crepes, maple pecan waffles, pear onion brie quiche or eggs benedict casserole. It also includes coffee or tea, juice, fresh fruit and freshly baked cinnamon rolls or pecan rolls.

Pryke said the cinnamon rolls and the pecan rolls will be a buffet style at the beginning of the brunch and then guests will be served plated entrees.

“Everyone benefits in my opinion,” Pryke said. “Moms get a really nice meal, and I did this with my mom and grandma growing up or we did a nice breakfast in bed —I think tradition is important.”

The teahouse offers a welcoming atmosphere with the aroma of fresh baked goodies, two rooms for seating that are elegantly set and great customer service for guests.

The teahouse was previously known as the Hunter Mansion Tea Room at 223 W. Fourth St. S. and is now the yellow two-story house that sits at 309 First Ave. W.

Pryke said the number of regular customers continues to grow.

“The community’s support is just as great as when we started business here,” Pryke said. “We get a lot of calls to hold a lot of different events. That’s always a good sign of growth and that was the goal of moving and its been terrific.”

Reservations are required to attend and are $17.50 per person. Tax and gratuity are not included. Contact Pryke at 641-792-2970.
