FORT DODGE — The school district intends to remove flooring underlayment containing mercury before turning an auxiliary gym into a wrestling room at Fort Dodge Senior High. District officials say the removal will ensure that mercury vapors that could have been produced and could have caused long-term health problems won’t be present. Work is expected to begin May 1 on removing the gym floor and the rubber underlayment and could take five to 10 days.
