Lan Sliger

Lan Sliger, 78, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Carefree Assistant Living in Burnsville, Minn. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. May 5 at Riverside Cemetery, 611 N. Center St. in Marshalltown. No funeral service is planned, just a private viewing for family. Cremation services were provided by White Funeral Home in Bursville, Minn.

Lan was born in Saigon, Vietnam. She was married to Ernest Sliger who proceeded her in death in 1994. She never remarried. Lan retired from Monfort in Marshalltown.

She loved to cook and feed people. She also enjoyed road trips and going to the casino. Lan had a big heart and wanted to befriend those who didn’t have friends or who were alone. She went out of her way to make strangers feel like family.

Lan had that sparkle in her eye that everyone saw and had the smile to go with it. She always spoke of her family to others, about how proud she was of her family and the love she had.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Sliger; daughters, Jacquelin Burdess and Kim Sliger; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
