Gary ‘Chris’ Wilson

Gary Christopher (Chris) Wilson of Des Moines, formerly of Newton, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017. Chris was born March 17, 1968, in St. Joseph, Mo. He attended schools in Kellogg and Newton, and for most of his adult life lived in the Des Moines area.

Chris is survived by his daughter, Gabrielle Wilson of Des Moines; parents, Randy and Sheryl Van Zee of Ankeny; brother David (Corey) Wilson of Newton; sister Gail (James) Tratz of Owatonna, Minn.; nephews Michael and Gabe Tratz; and nieces Abigail Tratz and Annika and Isabelle Wilson.

A remembrance of Chris’ life will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 13 at the south shelter in Maytag Park in Newton. The family will hold a private burial at Our Silent City cemetery in Kellogg.
