CMB girls down Tigerhawks at home

COLO — Collins-Maxwell/Baxter junior Abbie Ericson and Colfax-Mingo sophomore Delaney Underwood needed a tiebreaker to decide medalist honors at a non-conference dual golf meet Thursday at Twin Anchors Golf Course.

Both Ericson and Underwood carded a 48, but the CMB junior won medalist honors because of a cardback tiebreaker. The win for Ericson helped lead the Raiders to their first win of the season. CMB shot a 209, and the Tigerhawks finished with a 223.

Full results were not available at press time.

The Tigerhawks played without their No. 2 and No. 3 golfers as Amy Russell was with the Colfax-Mingo girls’ track team in Baxter and sophomore Camilla Schlosser was with the Prairie City-Monroe soccer team in Monroe.

The most impressive performance from Colfax-Mingo came from No. 4 golfer Sydni Hostetter, a freshman who carded a career-best 51. Sophomore Chelsea Russell scored a 61 and freshman Brielle Reed was the final counting score with a 63.

Sophomore Jasmine Riley finished with a non-counting 68, and freshman Shanen Shedenhelm carded a non-counting 78.

The Tigerhawks play at 4:15 p.m. Monday at Belle Plaine.

CMB plays at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Iowa Falls-Alden.
