Students present psychology research

PELLA — An impressive cohort of 29 Central College students presented their research at the Midwestern Psychological Association conference in Chicago April 19-22.

The group includes these local students:

Haley Wilcox, of Newton, presented “The Effect of Motivation Style on Political Involvement.”

Brooke Porter, of Colfax, presented “The Effect of Social Context and Profanity on Taboo Word Use.”

Michaela Van Dusseldorp, of Colfax, presented “The Effects Race and Age Have on Attitudes Toward Stereotypic Generalizations of Populations.”

Holly Vander Pol, of Newton, presented “The Effects of Acetaminophen Placebo and Mood on Risk Taking.”
