Newton High School’s junior-senior prom is set for Saturday night. This year’s theme is Great Gatsby.

The dance will go from 8:45 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. at the high school.

After Prom, which is put on by the junior parents, starts at midnight and lets out at 3 a.m. After Prom activities, also held at the high school, will include a hypnotist and carnival games.

Prom walk-ins are scheduled for 8:45 p.m. The public is invited to the walk-ins and is asked to park in the back southeast parking lot and enter through the southeast doors of the school, leaving the front parking for the prom-goers.

The junior class will decorate the lower gym. A public viewing of the decorations will be available along with a freewill donation starting at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The NHS prom committee, which was formed by the junior class, chose the Great Gatsby theme.

Students planning on attending the dance must be in the building by 10:30 p.m. For After Prom, the doors to get in will close at 12:30 a.m. Once a student leaves, there is no re-entry.
