Opal Rogers

Opal Marie (Clark) Rogers was born in Des Moines Nov. 16, 1929. She was married to David Rogers Dec. 31, 1951, and then spent her remaining years in the Newton and Baxter area. She was preceded in death by her husband David; son Randy; infant son David; two brothers, Johnny and Keith; and sister, Bernadine. She is survived by her son, Ron (Donna) Rogers of Macon, Mo.; five granddaughters, Marti (Shad) Davies of Newton, Anne (Joe) Murphy of Lineville, Mo., April Wilcox, Lisa (Mike) Wolfe of Allerton and Michelle Rogers of Macon, Mo., 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Erma Doty of Newton; and many nieces and nephews.

Opal was devoted to her family and friends, spending time with them was her greatest joy. She loved to brag about her beautiful family and how proud and blessed she was by having so many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She touched many lives with her kind heart and loving nature. She would have given her last dollar to help anyone in need. She loved to crochet and then give her creations to family and friends.

She joined our Lord Friday, April 14, 2017. The family will lay her to rest at the Ashton Cemetery. The family will host a celebration of life for all of her family and friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 6 at Woodland Park in Newton.
