Metallica to headline Native Fund concert at Iowa Speedway

The Iowa Speedway will be rocking as metal band Metallica hits the stage in June.

The concert, which also features Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat, is set for June 9 with tickets to go on sale April 21 at 10 a.m. through ticketmaster.

The concert is set to be a benefit for the Native Fund, a nonprofit organization charged to help Iowans during disaster relief founded by former Iowa Hawkeye Dallas Clark and Ashton Kutcher.

“’Newton, Iowa?’ You ask... ‘that’s a new one!’ We’re excited to announce that the WorldWired tour will make a stop at the Iowa Speedway in Newton to play a special benefit show for the Native Fund on Friday, June 9,” Metallica said on a post on their website. “We’re honored that Ashton and Dallas invited us to be a part of this special event and look forward to giving back to a state that has been so supportive of Metallica throughout our career.”

The concert is the final addition to Metallica’s summer tour.

Iowa Speedway Newton Club and season ticket holders will have an exclusive pre-sale opportunity on April 20.
