Lucille M. (Dittmer) Hearl, died at the age of 98, Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Newton Healthcare Center. A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials to the Donor’s Choice may be left at the funeral home.

Lucille M. Dittmer Hearl, the daughter of Oscar and Clare Schultz Dittmer, was born Dec. 25, 1918, in Chicago, Ill. She graduated from Austin High School in Chicago, in 1936.
On July 25, 1939, Lucille was united in marriage with Ernest "Bud" Hearl in Chicago. They were blessed with four children, Ernest, Nancy, Gary and Cindy. Lucille retired from the Vernon Company in Newton, where she worked in the sample room. She was a member of the Lady Elks. She was inducted into the Jasper County Bowling Hall of Fame in 2010. Lucille loved her family from her kids to her great-great granddaughter. She also enjoyed bowling, word puzzles and she was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. Lucille celebrated the Cubs 2016 World Series win with her family. Lucille was a loving and devoted wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, great-great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend.

Those that are left to cherish Lucille’s memory are her daughter, Cindy Reynolds of Newton; three grandchildren, Alan Foster, Deb (Jeff) Wollman and Brian (Emily) Hearl; five great-grandchildren, Aly (Brian) Price, Ben Wollam, Mikayla Foster, Chantelle Foster and Miley Hearl; great-great-granddaughter, Briella Price and another great-great-granddaughter is on the way; nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest “Bud” in 1979; sons, Ernest W. Hearl in 2000 and Gary A. Hearl in 2014; daughter, Nancy Foster in 2008; brother, Herbert Dittmer; and two sisters, Charlotte Holland and Eleanor Luckman.
