Hunt & Associates, P.C., Certified Public Accountants, released an audit report on Newton Community School District.
The district’s revenues totaled $37,160,479 for the year ended June 30, 2016, a 1.8 percent increase from the prior year. Revenues included $14,880,278 in local tax, charges for services of $1,436,272, operating grants and contributions of $5,374,105, unrestricted interest of $7,954 and other general revenues of $15,461,870.
Expenses for district operations totaled $34,734,801, a 1.7 percent increase from the prior year. Expenses included $20,916,334 for instructional services, $3,141,442 for administration services, and $2,869,002 for operation and maintenance of plant services.
