Rotary District 6000 Assembly

Rotary District 6000 training assembly was held Friday and Saturday at the Newton DMACC Campus. Those conducting the training were current District Governor Chris Knapp, District Governor Elect Mike Ruby and a number of former district governors from around the area. Thirty-two clubs from the eastern part of Iowa were represented.

Friday evening opened with training session on grant applications which may be most valuable as Newton Rotary completes projects locally. The grant would leverage the funds already raised by the local chapter members.

Saturday workshops focused on fund raising, membership development, student exchange program, and RYLA, a program for sophomore students, which will be conducted at Grinnell College in July. Program ended with success stories from around the district.

Those attending from the local chapter were Jerry Sawin, current president; Craig Armstrong, former president; and Jack Maples, treasurer.
