Clara L. Pherigo, 87, of Newton died on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at her home in Newton.
Clara's funeral service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 21 at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, March 20 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Newton Union Cemetery in Newton

Those left to cherish Clara’s memory are her husband, Connie of Newton; sons, John Pherigo of Colfax, Gayln (Barbara) Pherigo of Newton and Calvin (Sherryl) Pherigo of Newton; her five grandchildren, Sonja R. Pherigo of Phoenix, Ariz., Callie L. (Mark) Swank of Newton, Lana R. (Adam) Nickell of Pleasant Hill, Chelsie L. Pherigo of Osceola and Dustin E. (Jen) Pherigo of Newton; her five step-grandchildren, Michelle (Reg) Plate of Houston, Texas, Ronald Kane of Newton, Dave (Darla) Parker of Shannon City, Lisa (Doug) Merritt of Creston and Brian Parker of Winterset; 12 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, her three sisters-in-law, Mary Pherigo of Newton, Rose Pherigo of Kellogg and Peggy Dodd of Newton; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Delores Pherigo; and nine brothers and sisters.
