• Lee Paul Reed, 34, of Newton, was arrested at 11:22 p.m. Saturday at 603 E. 22nd St. S. on a warrant for failure to appear on a driving while license suspended charge. Reed was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Nathan J. Etter, 24, of Newton, was charged with second-degree burglary after an incident at 6:30 a.m. Feb. 16 at 232 E. 12th St. N. When police arrived, the victim said she found her purse and cell phone on the kitchen floor. The cell phone had been moved and used by the suspect. More than $1,000 was reportedly stolen. There were no signs of forced entry. The victim believed Etter to be the one who stole the items. Etter later admitted to the victim he took the items. Etter was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
