The Vernon Company and UAW workers ratify contract

The International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) Union, which represents union workers at The Vernon Company, recently ratified a one-year contract agreement recently with the Company that included work rules, wages and benefits for union members.

Of the agreement, Tony Oberman, Vice President Graphics Operations, said, “I want to thank both the Company and the Union committees for their hard work putting together this agreement. We appreciate the time and hard work these situations can take.” He continued, “At Vernon, we have a long history of working together to find solutions and help keeping our costs in line with the market and I believe that this agreement helps ensure a strong working relationship for the future.”

The previous contract was set to expire Feb. 28. The new contract will be in effect until 2018.

The Vernon Company, a fourth-generation family business founded in 1902, manufactures and markets promotional products designed to help other businesses increase sales and improve profits. The company has more than 30,000 customers, served by 275 account executives throughout the United States and Puerto Rico and 210 administrative and production employees in its Newton, Iowa, headquarters and two sign graphics manufacturing subsidiaries based in Missouri and New Jersey.
