Concerning the Annex building — looks like the same mentality of the Newton Community School District — don’t bother maintaining existing buildings, tear ‘em down and rebuild with taxpayer money.
I had the privilege of spending time in Italy last summer. Buildings built in the 15th century are still standing and functioning well.
In America, Newton, a disposable mentality prevails. Fifty years and gone! Oh, well, taxpayers will foot the bill. NCSD doesn’t maintain Thomas Jefferson or Woodrow Wilson now.
Excuse me but I have to go now. My house was built in 1926, and I may have to raze it and rebuild. Oh, I can’t. I don’t have someone else’s money to spend.
