Christopher B. Hasselbrink, 25, of Newton, was charged with simulated public intoxication and interference with official acts at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday after police were called to the 400 block of East 12th Street North in reference to a man staggering while walking. The man was described as wearing a Carhart tan jacket and jeans. Police found a man who matched the description and recognized the individual as Hasselbrink. Police smelled alcohol on Hasselbrink. He was also swaying while standing. Police were in the middle of a sobriety test when Hasselbrink ran away. Officers placed Hasselbrink on the ground to stop him. Hasselbrink was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Cole R. Horsch, 23, of Lacona, was cited with driving with license under suspension at 11:41 p.m. Thursday.

• Keith E. Bullard Jr., 28, of Baxter, was cited with driving while under suspension at 6:46 p.m. Wednesday.
