Newton Police Department

• Latasha R. Harris-Pearson, 18, of Newton, was charged with possession of controlled substance, marijuana and Shea H. Bucklin, 19, of Newton, was charged with operating while under the influence at 9:40 p.m. Feb. 8. Police were called in reference to a possible intoxicated driver in the 1600 block of First Avenue East. The vehicle was described as being all over the road and driving down the wrong side of the road. Police saw the vehicle drift to the outside fog line and then drift to the center line. Police made a traffic stop in the 5600 block of Highway 6 East. Bucklin appeared to be disoriented and lethargic and failed the field sobriety test. Bucklin was arrested. Pearson, the passenger, was seen spraying perfume and removing items from the vehicle. Police took the driver's purse and found a clear plastic bag containing 1.6 grams of marijuana. Bucklin said the substance belonged to Harris-Pearson. Harris-Pearson told police she owned the substance. Harris-Pearson and Bucklin were taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Martin R. Waddle, 49, of Kilduff, was charged with driving while barred, at 7:28 p.m. at Feb. 8 after officers stopped a red and silver 1995 Dodge Dakota. WAddle showed a driver's license status of barred. Police were able to activate their emergency lights and sirens to inititate a stop in the 1000 block of South Third Avenue East. Waddle told police he thought he had a valid temporary restricted license. Waddle was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Clint T. Nelson, 37, of Newton, was charged wtih trespassing at 1:14 a.m. Feb. 8. Police were called to Walmart in reference toa man being in the store who had previously been trespassed. Nelson was is in the store on Feb. 8 after being trespassed from the store on Oct. 18, 2016. Nelson was released and issued a citation to appear in court.

• Shawna L. Risedorf, , of Lafayette, Colo. was charged with operating while under the influence at 12:57 a.m. Feb. 11 after police saw the vehicle pull over on the side of the road in the 3000 block of South Eighth Avenue West. The vehicle turned its four way emergency flashers and river stepped out. The driver ID as Risedorf appeared to sway when she stood and wanted driections to Walmart. Risedorf admiteed to drinking earlier in the night. Risedorf registered over .08 on the preliminary breath test. Risedorf was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Austin B. Shepherd, 19, of Newton, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing at 10:14 p.m Sunday. Police were called to Walmart in reference to a trespass. Police were told Shepherd had been inside the store. Walmart employees hada document that had been signed and given to Shepherd advising he was trespassed. Shepherd was arrested for trespass. Shepherd was taken to the Jasper County Jail. At the jail, a syringe was located in Shepherd's backpack.

Jasper County Sheriff's Office

Kori T. Cunningham, 35, of Newton, was charged with operating while under the influence, second offense at 11:43 p.m. Feb. 5. Cunningham was seen by police speeding in the 6200 block of Highway 14 South. Cunningham told police he drank six beers. Cunningham said he was on a few medications and isn't supposed to drink while taking them. He failed a field sobriety test and gave a breath test result of .100. Cunningham was convicted of OWI in 2011. Cunningham was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
