• Frank L. Vanderbroek, 53, of Monroe, was charged with operating while under the influence at 1:40 a.m. Jan. 28 in the 10900 block of Highway 14 South after police stopped Vanderbroek because the license plate was too dirty to read. Vanderbroek also had a brake light out. Vanderbroek was slurring his words and had blood shot, watery eyes and smelled of alcohol. He admitted to drinking two beers at the bar. Vanderbroek also had an open container of beer by his feet next to his seat and center console. Vanderbroek said he felt buzzed. Vanderbroek was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail. Vanderbroek’s breath test gave a result of .100. He said he had been drinking earlier in the day while ice fishing.

• Matthew K. Lisk, 23, of Colfax, was charged with operating while under the influence at 2:43 a.m. Monday at 2305 NE 19th St. N. when he was pulled over for his license plate light being out and having a loud muffler. Lisk smelled of alcohol and was slurring his words. Lisk told the deputy he drank three to four beers but didn’t feel intoxicated. Lisk failed three sobriety tests. Lisk’s breath test gave a result of .105. He was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail.
