Discover Hope continues fight against addiction

On behalf of Discover Hope 517, I would like to thank everyone who helped us address the issue of addiction in our community in 2016. Throughout the past year we had many individuals bless our organization financially, and we also witnessed individuals bless others by serving within the ministry. We are thankful for your support and please know your efforts are helping change people’s lives.

This year, we had approximately 300 different individuals come through our doors, seeking help or opportunities to move forward with their lives. We feel these numbers reiterate our need to be actively helping individuals in the community of Newton. When an individual overcomes an addiction, everybody wins. Families are restored, employers gain an accountable employee and local businesses receive a new customer.

Since Discover Hope 517 was formed, we feel we have been called to bring different groups of people and organizations together for a common purpose, that is, helping people overcome their addictions in our community. In 2016 we received financial support from seven different churches in Newton and one in Pella. We also received financial support from eight different businesses within the community of Newton and seven different nonprofit organizations/ministries from Newton and Pella. Discover Hope 517 will continue to expand into the vision to which we’ve been called, providing support and services to those in need. We cannot and will not be successful in this fight without your support, thank you.
