The Jasper County Conservation hosted a Facebook Photo Contest for this year’s conservation photo contest.
The work of local amateur photographers were posted on the JCC’s Facebook page where voting took place by liking a photo from each of the three categories. Contestants could submit one photo for each category including landscapes, animals and seasons. During the 12 days of voting 769 votes were cast.
Erin Patterson was the overall winner for each of the three categories in the adult division. Kadance Ahn won the youth division with her photo of an aster plant at Jacob Krumm Nature Preserve. Eight photos that were entered into the contest were chosen to be printed on conservation greeting cards, which can be purchased at the conservation office. A pack of 16 cards can be purchased for $15 or three packs for $40. The Jasper County Conservation Office is located at 1030 W. Second St. S. next to Maytag Park.
