Celebrate Christmas at Holy Trinity, St. Andrew’s

At 5:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve, the Christmas story will come to life at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, rural Sully. Costumed children will portray the Biblical characters associated with Jesus’ birth. Christmas carols will add to the story. Candle lighting will be included in the service.

Children from Holy Trinity and the Newton Seventh Day Adventist Church will share the Christmas message, “The Savior’s Birth”, at the 7 p.m. service Christmas Eve at Holy Trinity. The play will also include familiar Christmas carols and a service of candle lighting.

A 10:30 a.m. worship service is planned for Holy Trinity on Christmas Day. The service will include Christmas carols and Holy Communion.

The Christmas season continues with worship for St. Andrew’s at 9 a.m. and Holy Trinity at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The two churches extend an invitation to the community to join them in celebrating Jesus’ birth through word and song at these events the next couple of weeks.

St. Andrew’s and Holy Trinity, congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, have been partners in ministry since the beginning of the year. The Rev. Kenneth Ahntholz serves both congregations.
